Three Reasons Why

About Three Reasons Why

Three Reasons Why is a reference on veganism for people who want to check the claims rather than be persuaded by them.

Most of what is written about eating animals is written to move you. Advocacy sites omit the awkward findings. Industry sites omit the rest. Both leave you holding an argument you cannot verify.

This site does the opposite. Every factual statement links to peer-reviewed research, a government health body, or the primary record. Where the evidence is contested we present the contest. Where a widely quoted study has been misread, including by people arguing our way, we say so.

The name refers to the three questions that bring most people here: what it does to your health, what it does to the planet, and what it does to animals. They are different questions with different evidence, and they deserve to be answered separately.

Who writes it

Articles are researched, written and fact-checked by the 3RW editorial team. Authority here comes from citations rather than credentials, which is why every claim carries its source in the sentence that makes it.

What this is not

Not medical advice. Not a recipe blog. Not a campaign. If you are making a decision about your own health, the sources are there so you can take them to someone qualified.
